Need Help Setting Up iTunes?
Wondering what the podcast is all about? Wish you could hear Rex's sermon during the week? This page is designed to help you set up Itunes on your computer and subscribe to the True North Podcast. There is zero cost involved and it is simple enough to do by yourself.
There are 3 steps to getting Itunes set up on your computer and we will walk through each one step by step.

If at any point, you have trouble with these instructions, you may contact Greg for more information. Before downloading, check to make sure your computer meets the following requirements:
Windows Requirements
- 32-bit editions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista
- 64-bit editions of Windows Vista
- 500 MHz Pentium class processor or better
- QuickTime 7.1.6 or later (included)
- 256MB RAM
- Supported CD-R or DVD-R drive to burn CDs
- Broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable/LAN) for buying and streaming music
Downloading iTunes
- Click on the following link: iTunes

Select the "Download iTunes Free" button on the left.
*Note* – You do not need to enter an email address if you do not care to. This is only for the ITunes mailing list.

When this screen comes up, select "Save"

Choose to save the file iTunes Setup on your desktop.
*Note* – You may choose another location, but saving here will come in handy later.

After 8-15 minutes with a broadband connection, the download will be complete. When you see a screen like this one come up, select "Run". This will take you into phase 2 of our instruction: Installation.
*Note* – If you don't get the option to "Run" then close the window and close all programs. Select "iTunes Setup" from the desktop.

Installing iTunes
If a security warning comes up, select "Run"

When the installer starts you should see a screen like this. Select "Next"
|

Read the licensing agreement for the iTunes Software. If you agree, select "I accept......" and "Next".
*Note* – If you do not agree, there is no option except "Cancel". If that is the case, this instruction is complete.

Select the installation options you want and select "Install". (Greg's personal preferences are shown in the picture)

Following successful installation, you should see a screen like this. Click "Finish".
*Note* – You will likely need to restart your computer for some of the changes to take effect. A popup window will show up if this is necessary.

Startup & Subscription
Once you have completed the install and any necessary restart. Run the iTunes program from the Start Menu.
You will see another copy of the License Agreement. Read and select your choice.
Agree will start the program, Decline will end it.

The starting page for the iTunes Store should look something like this. In the upper right hand corner is a box labelled "Search iTunes Store". Type "True North Church" in this box and press Enter.
At this point, iTunes will begin to search the database. It may take a minute or more to get the results.

You should receive a results page that looks something like this. Look through the list at the bottom for: "True North Church, Wauseon, OH, USA"
Select the "Subscribe" button for this line.
A confirmation box will come up and select Subscribe again.
You should see a "Downloads" button come up along the left header. This indicates that you are properly subscribed and that your first episode is coming.

Podcast FAQ
- How do I download new episodes?
- New downloads will come automatically within 24 hours of the posting date. iTunes will go out onto the internet and check for updates.
- When are new episodes posted?
- New episodes are typically posted by 9:00pm Sunday. Occasionally they are delayed by technical or scheduling issues. We would make a guarantee, but what can you expect for free?
- What should I do with old episodes?
- You can set this up under the preferences menu in iTunes. Typically they are discarded after you listen to them.
- Can I listen to this anywhere beside my computer?
- You have 2 main options for listening away from your computer.
- Purchase an iPod
- Burn to a CD
